    The notion of a shift from CAPEX focus to OPEX focus seems interesting. Is this based on a shift towards leasing/managed services/cloud which reduce assets on the balance sheet, or is the shift more driven by specific firms which have cash flow requirements or other factors which make capital investments less desirable? Financial analysis with a TCO or NPV would seem to be a factor here, but I am curious if a more technological trend is occuring (not just a financial one...).

    My theory is that the arrival of cloud is forcing a cultural shift in IT... towards automation, flexibility and enhanced business case discipline.
